2002 SOLID BLACK STUD COLT
BIG, FRIENDLY, TYPEY, GORGEOUS
HOMOZYGOUS BLACK
SCID-CLEAR
SWEEPSTAKES NOMINATED SIRE
Excellent conformation and type, with a
very kind eye. He’s very smart and
catches on real fast. Sensible and
sweet. He’s Mr. Personality and likes to
show off too. He’s always been pastured with
my mares (and foals when I have them) 24/7 and gets to be a horse. I’ve raised him from the moment he hit the
ground, and he’s one of the 2 greatest joys of my life. He’s approximately 15.1hh and built rock
solid. His cannon bones measure 9” in
the rear and 8” in front at the mid sections.
While he was still a stallion, he bred a
few of my mares in 2004 and 2005, and got them all pregnant on their first
“encounters.” One of those mares was
exported to Mexico, and she foaled a gorgeous black filly with a star—a real
people-lover! His second foal (another
filly--Bambi) is just awesome to be around.
I still have her. She really loves
people and is so easy-going and smart.
His third and fourth foals were both colts in 2006. See link to his foals page for photos/info
below.
Charlie’s sire, Saud El Warsaw, is a
Country English Pleasure, Show Hack and Halter Champion, including the 2000
Egyptian Event Country English Pleasure Champion in Kentucky. He has also won in many other regional and
local shows under his trainer, Mike Grimm.
See and read more about Saud at Misty Morning
Arabians. Charlie’s grand-sire was the famous black
Straight Egyptian stallion Saud El Ameer,
who was Blue List, Al Khamsa and Sheykh Obeyd.
Charlie’s sire is 50/50 Egyptian-Polish, and his dam (Stormy) is a blend
of Polish, Crabbet, Egyptian—heavily *Skowronek-bred. Stormy also goes back more than once to *Leopard on her sire’s side, who was
owned by General Ulysses S. Grant! *Leopard was one of two stallions presented
to Grant (during his celebrated tour around the world) by Abdul Hamid II,
Sultan of Turkey. *Leopard was the
earliest imported Arabian registered with The Arabian Horse Club of America.
*** Charlie was gelded on
November 8, 2005, but he has sired 4 beautiful foals.
Check them out on Charlie’s
Foals page for photos/info.
He has been trained to
walk, trot and canter under saddle.
